“What are we up to now?” I asked from the other side of the cubicle.
“905!”
A big smile erupted on my face even though I was trying to “play it cool” and act like it was no big deal.
“Awesome. Maybe we’ll break 1,000,” I told my marketing coordinator.
As soon as I said that one of my co-workers stopped in front of my desk, “We have a problem. There are too many people trying to register for the webinar. People are calling letting us know they want to register but can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Well… to be honest, we’ve never had this many people register for one of our webinars. Our limit is 500 so we’ll have to upgrade ASAP.”
“Upgrade then! We don’t want to lose leads,” I said.
As she hurried away I turned around and stared out the window and smiled again and thought, this is a good problem to have.
My name is Josh Monen and that’s a true story about one of the successful webinar campaigns I ran while working as the marketing director for a marketing automation software company.
Prior to my arrival they had been running monthly webinars and would typically get 150-200 people to register.
So getting 905 people to give us their name, email and phone number was insane.
That was a happy day at the office: for the company, the sales team and for me. We all made a lot of money that month.

Why don’t you use LeadPages?
LeadPages is great… I used them for years until I outgrew them and decided I was ready to wear underwear instead of pampers.
What am I talking about? Well, once you start getting into split-testing and doing deep advanced direct response marketing you’ll quickly realize why a “paint-by-number” tool like LeadPages doesn’t work well.
That’s why we use Unbounce. Yes, it’s 3 times as expensive as LeadPages. But there’s a reason why. It allows us to customize the page however we see fit.

It is a lot of work -- which is why you don’t see more copywriters offering a package like this. It takes anywhere from 15-20 business days to get done.
Which webinar platform do you recommend?
In my experience GoToWebinar and ClickMeeting are the best. I think the marketing for WebinarJam and Everwebinar is great but their product is a “B” while GoToWebinar and ClickMeeting is an “A.”
